everything feels, looks, and is solid..the picture does not give the blade itself justice, all over the sword there are little dents and nicks to give it a rugged look along with the wicked curve of the blade. I would not hesitate to amputate any part of the human body. lol. ah i forgot the cures to the problems of this sword. I broke it after slicing a 2 liter mnt dew bottle on my 4th strike, but hey for the price you can always buy more :) its a good sword for display and fairly durbale depending on if you don't torture it ! The only flaws with the sword are a few VERY small dings and nicks on the blade, and the blade is not completely straight, but to be fair, I'm not 100% sure its supposed to be. This weapon was used very much in the Battle of Thermopylae, in the MOVIE 300. this weapon simply did not exist in the time that the actual battle was fought. For $30 there is no better deal. Cant tell you about "quality" of the metal as it will be months before im strong enough to use them for the cardio and strength training I bought them for. I swung it around a few times and the leather handle started to come off =(, but its easily fixable. The only problem I've had (if you can call it a problem) is that the blade edge is so hard it's taking forever to put the edge i want on it.
Truly a spectacular piece. The video BUDK produced also showed it is tough as nails although I'll never put it through so much abuse. Buy this only for looks and you'll be happy. Not in length but in weight width and appearance. I absolutely love it, the handle was slightly pulled up tho but I think eventually Im just going to retap it myself with genuine leather. The guards are cheap and hollow. Both the guard and pommel were hollowed out and thus very weak. The 2nd issue I have is that there is no scabbard for it, which would have been nice to help protect it. I've put this weapon to the test dozens of times over the three years I've owned it and it has always held up, cutting whatever I put it up against. Did they drop it or just change it i guess ? Greeks never used swords like this, so if you want a historically correct sword for a Greek soldier the best BUDK has is the Celtic dress sword. This sword is crazy! !theres only two problems that i have(not major though)
